Laura and Ben’s beautiful and romantic wedding at the stunning Castle Howard, York

It was an absolute privilege to be asked to photograph Laura and Ben’s romantic wedding at Castle Howard near York. Castle Howard has to be one of North Yorkshires most stunning stately homes. Its impressive grand interiors and large landscaped gardens are a wedding photographers dream and provide the perfect setting for any fairytale wedding.

The day began at the Old Lodge Hotel in nearby Malton, where the bride and her bridesmaids were having their wedding hair and make up done before moving onto Castle Howard. The intimate ceremony took place in Castle Howard’s magnificent Great Hall beneath the famous 70ft dome above. The Great Hall features breathtaking architecture including rising columns, carvings and painted frescos, it really is a delight to photograph.  After the ceremony guests enjoyed champagne cocktails before moving to the 160ft Long Gallery for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

Castle Howard’s perfectly landscaped gardens provide lots of opportunity for capturing beautiful wedding photos. In front of the Atlas Fountain provides the perfect location for capturing Castle Howard in all its splendid glory. From here we moved into the Turquoise Drawing Room which provided a vibrant backdrop for some beautiful shots of the bride and groom.

Thank you Laura and Ben for an amazing day at an amazing wedding venue!
